RA001

Grey Lynn Villa

Renovation · Auckland · 2025

A careful reinvention of an older home to create a generous and intuitive heart for daily life.

This kitchen renovation reimagines an original workers' cottage, introducing contemporary functionality while respectfully preserving the home's heritage. The brief was to create a space that feels lighter, more generous, and better aligned with the clients' everyday living.

The design is guided by thoughtful material layering and careful detailing, balancing modern finishes with the villa's existing character. A refined layout improves flow within the compact footprint, providing generous storage, integrated appliances, and an intuitive spatial arrangement.

The end result is a clean, versatile kitchen and dining that quietly resists trend-driven design, allowing warmth, clarity, and simplicity to become its beauty.

RA002

Sandspit Residence

New Build · Mahurangi · 2026

Designed for a family seeking quiet refuge by the sea. Places to gather, rest and connect with landscape.

A three-bedroom beach house that responds to coastal living with calm, considered spatial organisation and enduring materiality. Set gently into its landscape, the pavilion-type plan creates a natural flow between sheltered interior spaces and outdoor rooms, supporting relaxed living and connection to place.

Anchored on thermal massing plinths and unified by a continuous concrete floor, the design balances robustness with refinement. The material palette is tactile, restrained, and resilient to coastal conditions. Light, proportion and texture quietly define the experience of the home.

Separated living and sleeping zones offer clarity and ease of use, while every threshold frames light and outlook with intention.
